Dr Bose is a specialty Doctor in Oncology who is based at NHS Ayrshire and Arran. She has years of experience working with patients across Ayrshire and in her spare time is a voluntary board director at Ayrshire Cancer Support.
"I know first-hand how cancer affects families throughout Ayrshire. One of the main reasons I became involved as a voluntary Board Director with Ayrshire Cancer Support, was knowing the help, support, and friendship they offer to many of my patients."
For cancer patients, the impact and risks of Covid-19 still remain, as do the uncertainties surrounding vital access to cancer treatments. This winter will be harder than ever for people and families facing the double strain of cancer and the cost-of-living crisis. Six out of ten people living with cancer are more worried about money now than they were a year ago which is epitomised by increased demand across all support services.
The challenge of ever-increasing costs continues to be an issue for our organisation. This, coupled with an increase in demand for our services, means the future will remain challenging for us but our focus will remain on helping those who have a new diagnosis, are currently having treatment, are caring for someone with cancer, or had a bereavement to cancer.
