As 2023 draws to a close, we would like to extend festive greetings to you, your friends and families.
We continue to be overwhelmed by the effort, imagination and generosity of our wonderful supporters and volunteers, and would like to take the opportunity to thank every one of you – we simply couldn’t do what we do without you.
We know Christmas can be a hard time for many people. Ongoing cancer treatment can overshadow the festivities, and for those dealing with bereavement, this time can be particularly difficult.
Our
drop-in Bereavement Café will start on Friday 1st December from 10am - 12pm, and will run fortnightly, providing support to anyone who may need it. All our services will continue to be available between Christmas and New Year.
Our Ayr Centre will close on Friday 22nd December and re-open on Wednesday 3rd January, however, our full range of services will be available from our Kilmarnock centre on 27th, 28th and 29th December. We would be delighted to welcome you there for a scheduled appointment or a chat in our drop-in area.
If you want to access support or find out about our services, please drop-in or get in touch:

2023 has been another busy year for us here at Ayrshire Cancer Support. Demand for our services has increased in all areas (contact with people who have used our services has increased by 89%), and we have been delighted to fully re-open our drop-in centres and wellbeing hub, re-launch our full programme of workshops and support groups, and welcome even more people to our new support centre at Ayr - making sure that we continue to be here for anyone who may need us.
Feedback from those who have used our services continues to be overwhelmingly positive, and we are delighted that we are able to make such a difference to people during the most challenging of times.
We are especially pleased with the continued growth of our Children and Young People’s Service – the only specialist support of its kind in the area for Children and Young People who find their lives affected by cancer.

“Ayrshire Cancer Support has been a vital service that has allowed our son to participate in events with children and families in similar circumstances.
The outdoor group provided fun and laughter for Jack, enabling him to be free from the stresses and worries associated with cancer. Jack was treated with respect and his individuality was supported by caring and considerate people.
There was the opportunity to share quality time with other families experiencing difficulties."
Jacqueline & Jack McConnachie, CYP Outdoor Group Participants
Every day we need to raise £3,000 to meet growing demand and to deliver our vital free services to children, young people and adults affected by cancer living here in Ayrshire.
As well as our regular fundraising, 2024 is set to be an exciting year for Ayrshire Cancer Support as we look to begin work on the redevelopment of our new support centre in Ayr. So far, we have raised over £2,000,000 - a fabulous testament to our wonderful supporters!

The new centre will include a stunning, bright, glass-filled extension which will be home to our drop-in hub. The Hope and Memories window will be made up of the names of many supporters, high up on the windows, and will be a symbol of hope and support for everyone who walks through our doors.
We have three options available for people looking to support us in this unique way: Silver £20, Gold £50 & Sapphire £100.
Supporters will receive a certificate which can be gifted to the recipient.
