A few words from our CEO

“On behalf of Ayrshire Cancer Support, Ayrshire’s leading cancer support charity, I extend festive greetings to you and your loved ones. As we look back on 2024, there are several highlights to note."

We are delighted to have received the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Charity of the Year Award in October this year. We accept this award on behalf of our whole team of dedicated staff and wonderful volunteers, and those who generously support our organisation, without whom none of what we do would be possible - thank you. This award is testament to all the effort that goes into the provision of our free services and the appreciation our local community has for them.

We have recruited a Cancer Support Specialist, ensuring people are matched with the most appropriate support for their current level of need, and we have held several special events over the year for children and young people, allowing participants the opportunity to forget about their worries, have fun, and enjoy being children. With an increase in demand for our services, we continue to develop and strengthen the range of services we offer.

We continue to be overwhelmed by the support we receive from our volunteers, individuals, community groups and businesses, and I take this opportunity to personally thank you for the significant difference you continue to make, helping to ensure our vital services remain free of charge for anyone who needs them.

Moving towards the festive period and the year ahead, we are hoping for your continued generosity. Delivery of our services costs approximately £3,000 per day and, without any statutory funding, we rely on the generosity of people such as you. By making a gift to us, no matter the amount, you will be helping us to help people manage the impact of cancer on their lives.

Thank you,

Sandra McCall, CEO
